Christmas Eve Bulldog Spirit
Getting to the office on Christmas Eve is often a challenge for numerous reasons, and given that we are all grown adults, I don't need to go into most of them. But today was a new level. Half way through yesterday I began to understand why Noah built his ark, why the Romans worshiped Neptune* above all others, and why everybody loves a dolphin. It didn't rain, it didn't even pour - It felt like the sky had opened the bath plug and let the Atlantic out.
Today getting to the office on the trusty bike, I looked for the dove fluttering above the land come sea, and for about 2 miles could only know I was on the road because of the hedges either side. But everybody has made it in. Bacon butties all round, hearty soup and everybody home for lunch. We are looking forward to 2014 and wish everybody well for Christmas.
* Neptune was God of the sea, rivers, floods, droughts, earthquakes, and the creator of horses; known as the "Earth Shaker".
