Most Councils are looking at their public toilets and considering their options as to the scale of their provision. However, we have found that most have no hard data on how many people actually use their toilets, and at what time of day.
Pinpoint, our usage analysis tool, employs a variety of media to gather people counting data, ranging from a passive infra red beam through to more sophisticated thermal imaging. Each situation needs to be considered and the best solution installed, taking account for both required accuracy as well as budget.
The main type of counter used in public toilets is an infra red counter positioned in the doorway. The counters have to be highly robust however to deal with the likely rigours of the environment in which they find themselves.

All our counters gather information on a time basis, and transmit this via GPRS to the client web browser. The data is collated and published by the hour, day and week as well as the month and quarter.
